Meet Jay Vanden Heuvel,
Partner/Residential Project Manager...

Hi... Jay Vanden Heuvel here... I grew up on my family’s farm in Seymour where I worked beside my parents and four older brothers. A Seymour High School graduate, I attended UW-Oshkosh and held various jobs to help pay for school. During college, spending one entire summer working indoors made me realize that a strictly desk job was not for me and I quickly accepted a job offer in construction. Today I enjoy the mix of office, client meetings and job-site responsibilities.

After learning the construction ropes for more than six years I had a desire to run my own business and to work one-on-one with customers. The result: I became a founding partner of Fox Cities Builders in 2001. Now I’m a hands-on business owner helping to ensure a smooth process for our clients as we build their ideal home.

Residential Project Process

At our initial meeting we will discuss your needs and desires for your new home. Bring us your completed plans, pictures from magazines, snapshots, ideas—even your own drawing of your dream house. Then we’ll ask questions... What is your budget? Do you need a gourmet kitchen? A four-stall garage? An in-law suite? We’ll get to know you so we can determine how you live and what type of house will best suit your lifestyle.

Next our in-house drafting department will draw up a set of preliminary plans to match your requirements and budget. We will present these plans to you and together we’ll determine any revisions that are necessary. Finally we’ll present you with revised plans and an accurate cost estimate for your approval.

When building begins Fox Cities Builders makes sure your build goes according to plan. We handle all coordination and scheduling with subcontractors and conduct weekly meetings to monitor the established timeline and budget. In addition, our experienced project managers are on-site to ensure that all details are completed to your specifications. Throughout the process we’ll provide any assistance you need selecting flooring, cabinetry, hardware, finishes and more...
